I listened to it at work today, and it was just…OMG. Every song was brilliant!

Josh posted the (original) Love version of this song. While I do love that version, it’s the Damned’s rendition that lingers in my head. Many a night in the late 80s/early 90s were spent with this on my headphones, drawing parallels, firing up my discontent.

I worked in retail for many years (I don’t any more, thank God) and believe me when I say that working on that day is nothing short of miserable, and in most places they require everyone to work. Also, I hate crowds, and I’d rather shop online or at a less busy time even if it means paying more. I just can’t support such crass consumerism where people have been trampled to death in the past, not to mention camp outside a store for days, just to save a few bucks on the hot item of the moment. I just can’t do it.
I have managed to not support Black Friday by not buying a damn thing over the past two days.
I am quite proud of myself for it, too.
